About Screeny
Screeny is a screen time app for iPhone. It locks the apps that pull you in, so you can put your phone down.
What it does
You pick what distracts you and set the rules once. From then on Screeny locks it by itself, on a schedule or once you have used up a daily limit. Folders lock a whole habit at once, like every social app together. When a lock really has to hold, a physical key keeps it shut: an NFC tag, a printed QR code or a barcode you already own.
Why it exists
Screeny is built by Aditya Bhatia, Adi for short, in Hamburg, Germany. It started after trying most of the screen time apps on the App Store. They all had the same flaw: the limit screen comes with a button that lets you straight back in.
So in Screeny the way out takes a deliberate step. You scan your key, or you break the seal: hold while a short countdown runs, pick how long you need, and the app locks again by itself. The longer story is in why we built Screeny.
Built on Apple's Screen Time
Screeny runs on Apple's own Screen Time frameworks, so iOS itself enforces every lock. There are no accounts and no ads. Apple hands Screeny the apps you pick as sealed tokens, so it never learns which apps they are, and your screen time stays on your phone. Usage statistics are sent only if you say yes. More in private by design and the privacy policy.
Finding the right Screeny
Screeny is not on the App Store yet, so apps you find there under the same name come from other developers. This site, screenyblock.com, is its home. Join the waitlist to hear the moment it is out.
